Festive Round Up

At last I have finished all the Christmas events I was trading at. Sunday 2nd December was spent at Capel Manor in Enfield, this proved be a good event with a high turnout despite attrocious weather on the day.

The Compost Fairy wearing her new Woodland Wings

Another bad day for weather was Thursday 6th December when we were trading in Maldon High Street at their Victorian Late Night Shopping. The rain and wind beat us and blew both our gazebo and our stock everywhere. Added to that various problems with lack of parking I was not a happy fairy and packed up early and went home.

Lovely ladies let my daughter shelter from the rain!
It was with some misgivings that we set out the following Thursday to once again be part of the Victorian Shopping Event, however this time the weather although really cold was not wet and windy. We also had an improved trading postion so it was turned out to be a good event, with plenty of fairy tutus being sold.

National Trust Christmas Gift Fair

This is the one we very nearly didn't make it to due to my youngest being very poorly. However at last minute my lovely husband somewhat reluctantly stepped in for the Saturday and despite it being bitterly cold, he managed to sell loads of fairy bits and actually quite enjoyed himself!
I went on the Sunday along with my mum and I think weather wise we got the better part of the deal. Tutus were the hot seller but several adult fairy dresses were sold so if you see fairies flying into a party in Sussex it could be our customers.

Pirate & Fairy Party

A pirate ready to party!

Last Saturday afternoon was spent at a lovely pirate and fairy party. The birthday girl looked fabulous in her pirate outfit as did all the other guests. We had great fun playing a range of pirate games and of course a treasure hunt. Every pirate made a wonderful pirate hat and feasted on pirate goodies at the Captains Table.

A really lovely bunch of children who all behaved amazingly well and throughly enjoyed the party.

Balloon & Kite Festival

Fairy Finesse had a great time at last weekends Essex Balloon & Kite Festival. It was with some apprehension I set off early Saturday morning to set up the fairy grotto and lay out our stall. This all should of been done on the Friday but I was beaten by the wind. Fortunately Saturday was a gorgeous sunny day and after a few hours hard work our stand looked good. We had a lovely day both selling our fairy goodies and entertaining the little ones in our fairy grotto. The day ended with a firework display and night glow of the hot air balloons.

When I arrived on site Sunday morning it was a whole different story, the wind had already damaged our grotto and we had to very hastily add extra guy ropes to it to stop further damage. All stock had to be kept inside the gazebo which was a shame but the bright colours still caught people's eye. After a busy start it soon became apparent the event was not going to be nearly as busy as the day before. The wind had meant they were unable to fly the hot air balloons, so upon hearing this visitors were turning straight back round and leaving. This was a great shame for both traders and visitors as the day didn't have the same atmosphere due to smaller numbers of people there. However we still had a lovely time and chatted to loads of new people.

These photos show just some of our fairy customers and some of the lovely fairy items they created in the grotto.

The Essex 2007 Hot Air Balloon & Kite Festival

I have booked a trade stand at the upcoming Essex 2007 Hot Air Balloon & Kite Festival on 15th & 16th September at Montpeliers Farm just outside Chelmsford. More details on this event can be seen here http://www.mpevents.co.uk/

This is a new event to Essex and is already receiving alot of interest from local press so fingers crossed we should have a busy weekend. We will be setting up our grotto so all the would be fairies out there can come in and make something lovely. We will of course also be taking a large supply of fairy dresses, wings, tutus, pixie jackets and much more for the fairies big and small.

Weyfest 2007

We arrived back this afternoon from a weekend trading at Weyfest. This music festival was situated in the most beautiful setting of the Rural Life Museum, Tilford, Surrey.

Dan my husband had agreed to come along for the weekend so we left the kids with my mum and headed off down the motorway. Unfortunately after a few hiccups we arrived on site much later than planned, so we only time to pitch our gazebo and tent before darkness set in. Never mind great excuse to head off to the local pub for food.

This did however mean an early start Saturday setting out the stock in the grotto and making sure everything looked as good as possible.

All though we were not rushed off our feet we did meet some lovely people and enjoyed the festival very much. We had the pleasure of being pitched alongside a lovely lady Jo from Jo's Jumpers see her lovely stock here www.freewebs.com/josjumpers
The weather has been a constant source of worry while out and about this summer so we were very lucky with no rain and even some sunshine making the weekend much more fun.

We met some lovely little fairies & mermaids and it was so lovely to see them running around all weekend in their tutus and wings. Here's just a few!

Rain & Finally The Sun

We've been busy out and about again, firstly at 'Its Showtime Event' at Althorne. Unfortunately the weather was not very kind to us fairies and we spent a good chunk of the day once again mopping out the grotto.

However at our next event, Woodham Walters Rural Celebration, the sunshine finally shone down on us making for a scorching afternoon in the most beautiful setting. This was a really lovely event which we thoroughly enjoyed.
